Thank you very much for the advice! 1) The banding is much better after some experimenting with CBR. 2) The apparent vignetting is no longer an issue  after using DBE instead of autoDBE.

Stars are very bloated due to the streching but I am reading about different methods to deal with the issue

The stars are not, in my view, particularly bloated for this target. If using PI you'll need to mask them during the stretch. I find Photoshop easier using layers to blend different levels of stretch. Have a care with you black point. Are you sure you haven't clipped any data there? But it's looking good.
