Just had my first look at the Sun through my scope. I got myself some Baader solar film and made a filter. Put it on the scope & checked it was secure. Then I checked it again, then again, then again. I know this stuff is safe but I was still a little apprehensive to take a look. I'd taken my finder off so took a bit of rough pointing but found the ball of fire without an eyepiece in at first. Then I popped an EP in and checked the filter was secure again. Then again. Finally plucked up the courage to have a look and there it was, like a big billiard ball in the sky! Wow! Experimented a little and got it fitting snuggly into a 15mm EP. Really chuffed at the moment and ready for the partial eclipse next week. :sunny:
