Cirrus complex with 100mm lens and SA

Recommended Posts

Hi friends,

yesterday i was able to zoom my lens on the cirrus complex.

Canon EOS 1000da - Canon 100mm macro @ f4,5 - 70 lights 120 sec. - 5 darks - mount Star Adventurer

Processing: Deep sky stacker - fitswork - photoshop 5

That nebula needs really long exposure time, hoped that i see more but about 2 hrs are not enough to show the nebula in it´s full beauty. But i am still happy with that widefield

Best regards and clear skies

Rüdiger

Great image. And well processed.

It's not the total exposure time that determines the result, but the exposure time of each sub. If the signal isn't there in each sub, you won't gain much by multiple exposures. Stacking will decrease the noise, rather than increase the signal. If your mount and sky conditions can handle it, try to increase the exposure time to, say, 5 minutes per sub.
