Autofocus woes

Getting bored with autofocus now, may have to go back to manual as it's proving quicker ATM.

Just had another try with F'Max4 using the first light wizard it did 4 V curves quite happily then complained that the star was getting too big / dim but this was because it had wound itself out to over 50hfd when it says in the instructions it will stop at 40hfd, which it did for the first 4 runs.

Also is there any way to stop it opening another instance of Maxim when it's already running ?

Was going to have another go at Maxim Sharpstar but a big cloud bank has arrived now

Just wasted another couple of hours on autofocus. 

Maxim Sharpstar just keeps winding the focuser out until the star disappears.

FocusMax4 complains the star is too bright when I've selected it a mag 5 star according to Stellarium, I've now had to use the red filter to keep it happy

FM4 has done 4 V curves and has now come up with a list of complaints why it can't complete the next one when nothing has changed 

Giving up ,now and doing some imaging before the clouds arrive .
