SkyTee2 slow motion or Giro Ercole

Recommended Posts

I also love my Ercole(s), but it took me some getting used to at first because I had started out with mounts with slow-motion control. If you are used to a mount that prevents the scope from moving in any direction until you turn a knob, an Ercole can be challenging. You need to balance the scope and adjust the clutches to let it move freely when you want it to, but stay put while you leave it untouched. And when changing eyepieces, you need to tighten the altitude clutch to keep the scope from tipping under the sudden lack of weight.

It did not take me long to get used to it, and it was definitely worth it for me. However, if you are used to slow-motion control and just want an end to all the faff, I can't help but suggest that you consider something like the SkyTee.
