Creases on ND3.8 solar film

ecuador

Recommended Posts

I ordered a sheet of Baader ND 3.8 solar film to try out some high mag photos, but it has a weird crease running its full length. Anybody has an idea on whether it will affect image quality? Should I try to have it replaced? I'd prefer not to go into the trouble of mounting it first (besides I don't have a comparison on whether it is working well). Image at an angle in which the crease is clearly visible is attached.

TIA

Looks like the 'crease' was in the substrate before the double coating was applied , provided the film shows no light through the area when held up to the Sun there will be no problem.

One of my visual filters is very similar in appearance and is fine coating-wise.
