Adobe Elements vs Photoshop

Hi All, I just wondered if anyone had experience with trying to combine LRGB in Adobe Elements.  Channels is of course the route you would go in Adobe Photoshop, but this feature is not available in Elements, hence prior to upgrading I wanted to check if there was another method which Elements could facilitate? thanks
