Markarian and a shed load of other galaxies and stars. Only for those with good eyesight!

Recommended Posts

From a couple of nights ago. Taken with my 70-300 canon L zoom at 70mm with my 550D. Shot at F 5.6 on my mount. 15 X 3.5 min exposures, iso 800 plus flats, bias and darks.

As a point of reference, you might be able to make out Markarians chain. Its tiny at this scale! If anyone know how to to this through software to identify stars, galaxies etc, please do so and post. Its is a very rich area of sky for galaxies though many will be invisible at this scale...

Cheers...

Oops, Tim, my apologies for mis-spelling!

No problems...I do have a bit of a Tum... :icon_biggrin:

Your run through astronometry only identified a handful of stars.

Here is another version with gradient removed and Markarians chain identified.

p.s. I used this method of removing gradients which works really well for the knobbly type of effect I seem to get when using a lens.
