Is this a good starter telescope?

Well, I took the plunge and placed my order with FLO for the skywatcher 130P eq2 and a RA motor. How long until Christmas?

I'm sure it won't be long before I'm wanting to head off to some dark sky sites. The "turn left at Orion" book looks good - I'll put it on my Christmas list too :-)

Good luck finding clear skies we look forward to hearing more about your adventures with the explorer 130 if its half as good as my 200pds you're in for a great voyage of discovery. Save up your pennies for the better mount with tracking so if the astrography bug bites you can enjoy long exposures and great pictures.

Remeber on cloudy nights there is always a place here for chat and helping others out.
