Adapters and LP filters

Hello all,

I'm planning on switching to CCD soon and wanted to incorporate an IDAS LP filter into my image chain, but the question I'm curious about is how best to place it? The 48mm willl have male/female M48 fitting (I presume) so would it be strong enough to connect at the front from my field flattener (SW Esprit 80 Pro) and have everything else hang off the back?

Other option I considered was in front of camera/filter wheel with an adapter either side. Something like:

t2f/m48m -> filter -> m48f/t2m

which will add about 7mm (not planning on using oag so I have room)

How have other people done it?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Dan
