Can I screw a Baader MPCC mark iii onto my Skywatcher Newton?

Recommended Posts

Since I'm trying collimation with a laser, I noticed how precise I have to be in getting it square into the focuser. That's fine, I get it needs to be precise as with an F5 and faster, you want to dial the collimation in within 0.5 mm or less. However, I use things like a MPCC on my DSLR. That fits right into my 2" focuser, but with an adapter that has a ring in it, pushing it tight. This pushes the rig, and also the laser, to 1 side every so slightly. I figure I just need to screw everything into the focuser to eliminate that problem, but is it possible at all with my setup?

My focuser has M54 thread on the inside.

I use a HoTech SCA to collimate my 250P-DS this unit is self centering, error you get when inserting the Baader MPCC after collimation (its a sliding fit into the focus tube ) will be small and something i wouldn't worry about.....
