Galaxy formation book?

While I know thare there has been lots of new science in this field I've yet to come across a book looking into it. A good up to date section in a book dealing with wider astronomy would also be of interest. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks. Sheehan's biography of Barnard is excellent so I'll buy this one.
