Operate a CG-5 Advanced with a Nexstar +

Picked up an AS-GT without a hand controller. Is it possible to go backwards with firmware to allow a Nexstar + to act as a Nexstar*? Any other options besides trying to locate an older hand controller. They seem pretty rare, at least in my searches.

Success.. Received some advice from Cloudy Nights to use Celestron firmware updater which allowed me to select the type of mount and it loaded the correct firmware into the + hand control. At power up the control now says Advanced GT instead of Nexstar Ready. So the controller is backward compatible. During previous attempts CFM would not even see the controller, the trick is to have the program running first before plugging in the controller.
