Baader T-ring with integrated UV/IR cut filter - Worth it ?

Hi all,

I just got my SW 80ED and will be in the Alps this summer to start my journey on the dark side, ie: DSO's (ominous music)

Not having the budget for a CCD cam, I will use my Canon 1000D for now, therefore I will need attachement rings.

So after a little ressearch I found this:

http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/product_info.php/info/p5911_Baader-Protective-Canon-DSLR-T-Ring-with-UV-IR-Blockfilter.html

That would solve all my issues in one go. The UV/IR filter, the T-ring and 2" nosepiece in one package.

How does this compare to a clip-in Astronomik filter + separate attachement rings ? Baader is a good Brand, but the price seems a little low ...

Cheers,

Hmm I should have read the whole page ... at the bottom there is this:

Compared with clip-in-filter solutions, you gain further advantages:

- The filter can be used for both APS-C and full format DSLR cameras
- Optimal field illumination without T2-bottleneck
- The whole internal room of the camera is protected, not only the sensor
- The protective T-ring is filter holder AND camera adapter in one
- Best mechanical adaptation possible
- Mounted standard 2" filters and unmounted 50.4 mm filters can be used.

Not sure if this is more marketing than reality ;)
