M51 through the sodium haze

I was a bit wrecked last night (from a bit of a session on the local Ale on Friday) but the night sky was just so clear for once, and I couldn't miss it. The last 6 months have been poor with a lot of moisture in the air which with the local street light LP seems to make a lethal combination.

My guiding was great, even though it took ages for PHD to calibrate.

I was using the Meade 127mm APO with a reducer so running at F6.5 with astronomic LP filter and Atik 428 OSC camera

Subs are around 2 hours, with just bias frames

I could of got more but had a long winded meridian flip and guide re calibrate which took for ever and my eyelids had begun closing by this stage so packed up at 2.50am

Quite pleased with this as the last image I got was a bit rubbish
