BRANDON OCULARS 32mm 24mm 18mm 12mm 8mm

Recommended Posts

Chester Brandon having been a designer as to the NORDEN bombsight in WWII developed a series of oculars that have become most popular with astronomers because of their fine quality derived from their optical design. They are in focal lengths of 32mm, 24mm, 18mm, 12mm, and 8mm. Yes they are exspensive but well worth the investment for your planetary telescope system. Many well known astronomers references to their experience using the eyepieces which are sold through Vernonscope&CO.

The contrast for the moon & Saturn is excellent. With Brandons, there is a dark background surrounding the a bright object which is perfect for planetary and double-star observing. From my observing I have found them excellent in observing lunar details such as the bands of Aristarchus showing much better detail. All of this fine imaging is due to their special design along with the 7-layer multicoating. Most astronomers who own a large aperture refractor have in their collection a set of Brandons. So if you looking for a minor division in Saturn's rings or a faint arm of a spiral galaxy, the Brandons are the eyepieces to get. One can purchase them as a set or the eyepieces individually.
