Astronomik UHC vs Astronomik 12nm H-a

I currently use a modified Canon 450d, and am considering either of these two filters. I realize from the charts that the Astronomik UHC (and similar filters) is sort of a broad H-a and OIII filter. I'm wondering if the bandpass of the UHC in the H-a range is too wide, and, if that is the case, whether I should go for the 12nm H-a filter?

My concern is that the 450d, even though it is modified, won't be sensitive enough for the 12nm H-a filter.

Any thoughts are appreciated!

Hello,

i would say unless your camera is mono modded, it doesn`t make much sense to go for the Halpha filter because your camera will only record information in 1 out of 4 pixels (due to rggb matrix). So i would go for either an Astronomik UHC or the Hutech Idas equivalent in your case.
