Sun focussing, and Foto-sharp, anybody got it/used it?

Hi all!

Last wednesday I got my scope!! HEQ5 pro synscan with Vixen R150S!! So happy with it!!

But... The first problem is evident: focussing. I tried some day sessions on the sun (I got a solar filter as well), and while focussing was quite easy when doing visual, with the camera on it resulted very difficult indeed, because the focal depth was reduced drastically: a minute twist on the focus knob and boom, you're way out either way...

I wasn't able to achieve any good photos or videos (trying also with liveview, enlarging the live image), with sunspots that show the different areas...

I looked around on the internet for ways of focussing, and found this site:

http://www.astropix.com/HTML/I_ASTROP/FOCUS/METHODS.HTM

This mentions the Foto-sharp accessory. It points to a site that seems to not have that for sale anymore:

http://www.kwtelescope.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=foto-sharp

To me it seems a very useful way to obtain focus, without having to use laptops and software...

For stars I will be using various masks (I have a Hartmann, but maybe I'll fashion my own Bahtinov, if the former proves less easy to use than the Bahtinov I already made for my friend's C8), but for the sun this does not seem as an option to me...

Any info, advice, suggestions?

thanks!

Gerhard.
