DSS and Canon 5D III

Anyone using DSS  reliably with Raws from the Canon 5DIII...

I get very mixed results especially if i add any "calibration" files into the mix ...  It displays the raws fine no probs there but I often end up with a basically pale white image with coloured stripes - very broad histogram... Used DSS for years with the 1000D and never had anything like this happen

Do you have an image of what DSS does to it with Calibration files. I had a similar issue lately with a new 700d.

Next time it does it I will save the image or better still do a screen grab as it will show the histogram as well then - I tend to bin them straight away accompanied by a barrage of muttering under my breath....

Working from a saved file list and without changing anything, Sometimes it would work perfectly, other times  it would produce results like those above and sometimes just crash with an Exclamation mark displayed in a pop up window...  Ho Hummm....

Have you tried doing it with the latest version of DSS 3.3.4?

Yep thats what gave those results

I find it odd that it still happens even if you convert your raws to tiff before stacking. Makes me think its more to do with dud calibration frames than software errors.

I'm not using calibration frames at the moment just lights...

I haven't come across that effect at all Pete using the 5D3 and v3.3.4. Have you tried d/loading a fresh copy of DSS and putting it in a different folder for a comparison?

Yep... that was the latest rar unpacked to a completely different drive...
