After digesting relies to the 8" reflector V LX90 thread I posted last week, and reading replies to the same question on Cloudy Nights, I've decided to stick with what I've got. However.......

I'm going to upgrade the focuser.

A JMI NG crayford is around £200+ in the UK

From the States I can have a Moonlite CR1 (motorised) for about $300 + shipping.

The moonlite is well superior to the JMI.

Has anyone installed one, and is the extra for motofocus worth it.

Its supposed to be much better for imaging (ie don't need to touch the OTA, so no vibration/image wobble)

I would go with the motorised version, for the reasons you have specified!!
