Mounting of Guidescope on Losmandy WS Rail

Recommended Posts

After lots of frustration trying to use off axis guiders I am thinking of changing to a guidescope, probably a W.O. ZS 66 SD or Megrez 72. I would like to mount it onto the Losmandy rail on my C-8 (the narrower WS type) so that I don't have to leave the guidescope fitted all the time and could use the guidescope on a normal photographic tripod. The simpliest way would seem to be to use a Losmandy RDF90 rings/adapter. These are solid rings however. Can the dewshields or the focusers be removed on the WO OTAs to allow them to pass through the rings? I presume that the tripod adapters fitted to the bottom of the W.O. OTAs come off by removal of a few screws?
