RS232 to USB cable. Mac users/Stellarium/telescope control

This is for anyone trying to connect a Mac and Stellarium with the EQ5 / Synscan RS232 cable, Plugable USB to RS-232 DB9 Serial Adapter (PL2303).

I've found that Mac users are poorly supported by some scope/software providers, sotIf anyone has been having problems getting this to work, This may be a solution:

In Stellarium, click on the telescope settings.

Choose your telescope from the dropdown list

Use j2000 (default)

Select Start/Connect at Startup

Under device settings, use /dev/cu.usbserial

Connect your cable and restart Stellarium.

This may work with other programs that can send slew commands to a telescope (CDC, etc), but I haven't tried it yet.

Just to be clear, this is for this specific cable/adapter,  a Mac, and Stellarium! I've had a week of correspondence with the techies at 'Plugable' to get this solution, and it works for me. I hope it helps :-)
