Comet C/2014 E2 (Jacques)

My first attempt at imaging a comet...and a steep learning curve in getting DSS to process the images. 21x30 second exposures at ISO 6400 with 21 darks and 5 flats. Processed in DSS and Photoshop.

Very nice and excellent tracking.

I have tried to load the comet data into stellarium but it doesn´t appear in the list. Am I doing something wrong or is this not possible yet with Stellarium,

Hi John, it is possible to use Stellarium to find the comet (and others). You need to update the programme. Google "Stellarium Comet Update" to find instructions. That's what I did. I'll find a link for you.

It worked this time. One question, the comet shows as around 10th magnitude but in a website which showsthe comet "live" I see magnitudes much brighter like between 6 and 7. What is the actual magnitude these days?
