M27 - 1x1 better than 2x2...?

Here is my revised M27, using 9 x 1200s L subs at 1x1 bin:

And, for the sake of a scientific comparison (well probably more artistic than scientific really...), here is the first attempt that uses 11 x 600s L subs at 2x2 bin:

Both versions use 3 x 600s subs at 2x2bin for each of R, G & B.

All comments greatly welcomed - which do you prefer, but more importantly, should I be using 1x1 bin with the C8" in future?!
