Activating Live View on my EOS 1000D

I have used it before but for whatever reason I can't remember anymore, I have already enabled it in the menu and tried modes other than 'M' to no avail.. Though I do really need it to work on M.

I know when someone says it I'm gonna feel stupid due to how obvious it is

P96 of the manual, if you have already done it via the menu then it should be displaying,

Live View Function Setting -> Live View Shoot = Enable

Sneaky, once set above press the Set button that is in the centre of the "circular" dial on the rear of the camera.
