Can anyone help explain spectral flux or/and relative flux?

Recommended Posts

Hi

not sure where to put this question

Can anyone help explain to me "spectral flux" or/and "relative flux"?

in relation to the document.

i think it means ignoring accumulation?

like rate of change of bread being toasted

i.e. when cold toaster takes longer to toast bread compared to when alredady been used.

Thanks

By spectral flux they just mean the counts as a function of wavelength measured off the CCD (which need to be adjusted for the fact that the efficiency of the CCD varies with wavelength - hence the adjusted for instrumental response bit).

Relative flux just means they don't know the conversion between instrumental counts and real physics units!
