Orion 50mm Guidescope + SPC900 for autoguiding and polar aligment

I have just ordered these 2, can you please give me some tip on focusing (unless it's a straight forwards plug and 'pray' )

Do you have them working with either EQMOD or PHD autoguiding ?

I'd also like to hear from you if you happen to use this combination with Polar alignment software such as AlignMaster, EQAlign

I have had much success using this guidescope. A trick i learned from a master is to just slightly have the scope defocused. It makes the stars slightly larger and PHD2 can grab onto them a bit better when autoguiding and dithering. Even using the ones that are not rated very high to use will work great if the DSO you choose has little to pick from.
