nikon D3000 remote

i brought a wireless remote for my nikon a few months back. tested it out and all was fine. now a couple of nights ago i was in the garden and for the life of me i couldn't get the camera to stay on bulb mode. turn on the camera, click the ap round to bulb and i go into the shutter release setting and put it on the wireless remote symbol and it would switch it self back from bulb to time. any suggestions would be great.

yeah they where fine i tested them. i should have said sorry it works fine on time mode but when i switch it over to bulb it goes back to single shot release, so i go back into release settings and put it on wireless remote and the camera switches back to time
