Anyone on here had any success with IRIS for DSLR processing?

I have a question:

I get the impression that I'm better of splitting my de-bayered RAW frames into components...

so I end up with a load of red, green and blue sub frames of all the subs I want to stack.

Now: do I have to do the same with my darks as well? or can I try and get away with not splitting these out?
