I saw that there was a thread posted about the discovery of Chariklo's rings, but that wasn't the only major discovery announcement yesterday, and I didn't see a thread about the other one. A team in Chile including Chad Trujillo (who was of course a part of Mike Brown's team) and Scott Sheppard discovered an object with an orbit similar to Sedna's. It actually has a more distant perihelion than Sedna, and it appears to be large enough to qualify for dwarf planet status.

Yes, but the really really bit news is that they claim the disturbance in its orbit may be caused by a new planet ten times bigger than the Earth! Plenty more research needed I imagine.
