Celestron CPC 800 - Maximum height on extended tripod?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.  I'm going to buy a CPC800, either new or used, for my observatory.  Can anyone who has one of these kindly measure the  midpoint of the tube assembly from the ground, when the scope is in the horizontal position on the tripod in the fully extended position.

The reason I need to know is that my observatory has fairly high walls as it is a converted prefab garage.  I need this information so that I can tell if I need to mount the scope on something a bit higher than the supplied tripod so that I can see objects when they are around 20 to 25 degrees altitude.  With this information I can then prepare for the impending arrival (soon I hope!) of my own CPC800.

Many thanks, Paul
