night vision camcorders

Can anyone recommend a good Night Vision recorder I'm looking for something portable for a project I'm working on. I had a look on eBay but my search just comes up with ghost hunting kits not really what I'm looking for. So I'm wondering if anyone has experience of this kind of kit they would be willing to share?

Perhaps I should mention it's not for astro use. I'm just trying to find out what is terrorising our cat at night

I think green witch does a variety of night vision cameras etc, if just for your cat you may be better off with something cheaper from maplins ie infrared security monitor recorder

Thanks that may well be the route I take. But I'm hoping to find something which would have dual use as a normal digital video camcorder

Ghost hunting has been very popular over here the last few years. I was on a team for about 3 years. Had a lot of fun and experienced some very strange things. That's where I got my experiences with the handicam.
