Can I use my Nikon d7100 with my nexstar 6se

Ofcourse you can, all you need is  an adapter to connect your DSLR to a T mount, and then a nospiece. The nose piece is then inserted in the visual back like an eyepiece. Go On the FLO site and  search for T adapters for DSLR and make sure you get the right  one for your camera. The complications arise when you want to introduce an FF/FR in the imaging train where you have to get the spacing to your sensor spot on but for now just use the DSLR as it is and enjoy.

I Have the 6SE and use a Canon 400D and a 650D (mod'd)

You would be limited to about 20 sec exposures as this is an AZ mount. But you can use high ISO and stack. My image was a single shot and you can see some distortion on the edge. It helps to get a focal reducer.

Thanks guys and I will be really pleased if I get a shot like you got there baggywrinkle. Think I will buy the t piece and nosepiece and experiment.
