Comets ISON & Lovejoy (C8 Hyperstar)

Early morning November 8 comets.   Setup C8 EdgeHD SCT with Hyperstar (f/2.1), ST-8300C ccd on CGEM mount.

ISON:  6 images stacked exposure 60sec frame.  Full frame for Hyperstar setup.

Lovejoy:  16 images stacked exposure 60sec frame.  Full frame & same scale as ISON image.

Interesting that Lovejoy has a larger and brighter core, while ISON has a more distinctive tail.  Unfortunate that comet ISON steals attention away from the impressive and underrated comet Lovejoy.

Thanks for posting the shots - saw Lovejoy last night visually - nice grouping with the beehive cluster.  It will be very close to M51 in a few weeks so looking forward to seeing some more images.
