HEQ5 Pro

Well, seems I have the imaging bug pretty bad...

Due to some good fortune I have just ordered myself a mount upgrade - going from my GOTO AZ to an HEQ5 Pro Synscan. Anyone got any tips for setting up first time or little tricks specific to this mount?

I've used a manual GEM before so I'm pretty excited. Also got an OAG on the way.

Apologies for the inevitable cloud-fest over the East Midlands for the next 5 weeks by the way

I refer to this as the New Astronomical Hardware Weather Phenomenon or NAHWP. Someone should do a paper on it as it's a very real thing.

Yes, I rather think I am going to use EQMOD, and Stellarium, and Backyard EOS !!!! EXCITING!

Just received it this morning (that's some quick turnaround from you know who) and assembling it was a doddle. Need to fiddle with my dovetails and rings as my existing bits don't fit perfectly but it will all go together nicely.

I saw a break in the cloud earlier. Dare I dream?
