One of my first photos of the Moon

Started taking photos of the Moon, with my Canon camera for the first time this year.

This is one of my more satisfying attempts.

Now to start learning more and hopefully improve.

Nice contrast on the crater rays. What lens did you use?

Hi, I was using my new Canon 300L, with a x2 teleconverter, then cropped the image in Photoshop to the above

Nice lens Good that you didn't overexpose, so easy to do with the moon. Next thing you could try is taking a burst and then stack to help cancel out the turbulence. Even a relatively small number of exposures can make a big difference. You could do video, but you lose the resolution then of course.

Yes I have been experimenting with exposures and its amazing how they vary dependent on the moons position - planning on doing some stacking next time around, providing I can work the software out
