Fairly simply question, which is better for AP?

I am looking to get my first DSLR for some newbie AP shenanigans and these 2 models seem fairly comparable pricewise ad wondered which has the edge?

Thanks for the link lensman, not sure i understood all of it, but for my budget i like the look of the 550d now. Just gotta try and snag one off eay now.

To spoil the suspense, the comparison pronounces the contest a tie. 

Check also promotions on the T3i (Canon 600d on your side of the pond) which is a superior camera and I believe is offered in some discounted bundles.

I should have added that the comparison says that the T3 (1100d) is better in low light.
