Which Mount

Hi there, I have a Meade ETX80, bought for me by my wife. Can anyone tell me, if I wanted to change the tripod for something a bit more sturdy to hold the mount and scope (tripod is a bit flimsy) is the pitch of the screw/bolt holes on all mounts standard or are they specific to the make of telescope.
