Windows Phone apps

Hi,

Any other people here using Windows Phone?

I've compiled a list of my favorite WP astronomy related apps. It would be interesting to see what other WP owners use.

If there is an astronomy app that you miss on the Windows Phone platform, please mention that too. As an WP app developer I might be able to program it.

Astronomy Hub

I use this mostly to get the Astronomy Picture of the Day on my start screen, but it also contains a lot of interesting articles.

SkyMap

A nice "point to the sky"-type map. As a bonus, you can pin the moon to your start screen as a live tile to have the moon phase and the rise and set times at at glance.

7Timer Astro Weather

Location based forecast for cloud cover, seeing, transparency and other useful parameters. I think the cloud cover forecast is often more precise than what the general weather forecast apps do.

ISS Tracker

Easy to use tracker that shows exactly when you can see ISS passing by. Filters by visibility and gives a good overview of the "quality" based on altitude and magnitude of each pass.

The Sun Live

Shows the latest solar images from the Solar Dynamic Observatory. I have the chromosphere view on my lock screen and the photosphere on the live tile, so I know if there are any interesting

sun spots / prominences that will make it worth to set up the telescopes.

Disclaimer: I made this app.

FOV Calculator

For astrophotography (but also useful for planning visual observations) this app shows you the field of view of various objects you can expect with a given combination of telescope and camera/eyepiece.
