First go with nifty fifty

Finally got a chance to use the nifty I bought a few weeks back, here's a shot of a bit of Cassiopia through the trees in my back garden. Really looking forward to using this great little lense, am currently tarting up some images of Cygnus that I took after this one, looking promising already !

What is the aperture used on that? It looks supprisingly sharp. I have a 1.4 version and its sharp. I can see you pushed the ISO up high due to the red noise in the sky.

taken at F.5, 30 secs, iso1600, learning what I can and can't get away with at present !

Thats a nice looking first result the nifty is a fine lens. I got my first shot at M31 with it, not bad (excuse the gradient) considering the focal length! - http://www.flickr.co...N05/8708454552/

nice M31 !, can't wait to have a go at it myself, need to take a chainsaw to some of the trees that are in the way of seeing it !!!

I have been doing exactly that! No joke! I would have to bring down a few dozen acres for me to get an earlier glimpse of Andromeda though haha
