Refurbishing an Orion XT10i Dob Mount

I've decided to give my 10" Orion XTi dob a bit of a tune-up during the summer months. I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice?

I'm the second owner of this scope, and I've noticed that on the knob that's the tension knob on the mount, it only has a white plastic washer. The manual suggests there should be a metal washer as well.

Anyone know if this metal washer is of a particular type and what size it should be?

Also, the rotation of the dob base is not very smooth. Any suggestions for improving it?
