SW 150p with 5X Barlow

Hi, hope this is the right place to post. My question is, can I use a 5 X Barlow on a SW 150p with a webcam for planets? Some say yes some say no. Would be interested on opinions.

Hi Carl,

Although its possible to do this & many succeed, your going to have to have your polar alignment bang on and unless u have a motor drive fitted to the mount you'll really struggle as any planet will fly by in a split second, I image with a webcam and a 2.5x & it needs to be precise, if you havnt done this before then i'd recommend a lower power barlow.

Should have said Steve, its on a Goto mount. Just wondering is the mag out of range for the scope.

Ah, thats different, you should be fine then. Imaging with a webcam means u dont have to worry about exceeding maximum mag of the scope.
