EQ Mount Questions

Hello. I am a relative newcomer with my first computerized mount. I have a Celestron CGEM EdgeHD 800. When I use this telescope and its equatorial mount, do I polar align to view objects in the Southern sky? (ie the Moon, the Sun, Saturn, etc?) Any advice for computerized tracking with this mount? I do not have my autoguider hooked up yet, I just want to use the mount built in tracking tomorrow to look at Saturn and the Moon.

Basic answer -yes.

The polar axis needs to be aligned to the pole star to give accurate GOTO and tracking...This should be explained in the Users Manual....
