Observing using WWT

Do others use Microsoft's WWT to scan for potential target objects to observe?

Well I was scanning Taki page 71 for new objects to try and I came across a strange object.

It looks like one of those local dwarf galaxies but I cannot find out what it is.

Any ideas. It is very faint but there on Aladin as well but I think it might be an issue with the DSS. Perhaps an artefact?

This is the location of the object... (RA, Dec) (H:M:S, D:M:S):(14:43:5.362, -6:52:49.552)

It is hard to see, I have enhanced the object and the oval shape shows up better now.

It might I think be an artefact and not a dwarf but I enjoyed it when I spotted the potential galaxy.

SIMBAD returns no non-stellar object within 2 arcminutes of the co-ordinates. Seems to be an artefact.

I agree but perhaps an imager can take a deep photo and check?

There is something going on in this region in the DSS image.

SDSS has no optical image in this area.

Any other whole of sky deep images anywhere on the net?

You could try 2MASS which is an infra-red all-sky survey.

Nothing on 2MASS..

Must be an artefact..
