PanSTARRS with star trails

PanSTARRS close up on 2/4/2013 stacked from ten 30 second mono exposures - WO 110 FLT, TMB flattener, QSI583, all sat on top of a venerable LX200 10" Classic. Don't look too closely at the star trails - I need more practice at manual alignment of images...

C/2011 L4 (PANSTARRS) still looks pretty impressive.

I still haven't managed to get a good look at this yet! My only view is noticing it in the bottom of a single frame photo I took of the crescent Moon when I got tired of looking for the comet.

As far as the alignment goes; I think if you keep the core of the comet aligned the stars will trail due to the movement of the comet over the 15 minutes of total exposure time.
