I took a few guided shots with my 100-400mm lens on the Canon 40D:

Good job. Looks like it is still worth imaging. I might have a try Saturday night if it stays clear.

I reprocessed the closeup in PSE 11 to darken the background and sharpen the image. Think it looks better.
