Open clusters in Auriga

Had a good look at the three in auriga last night before they are gone and noticed for the first time that m38 has a beautiful red star right at the heart of the cluster. Never seen the colour before with my cheaper eyepieces but my new range is showing detail of previously never noticed. Seeing This beautiful ruby red gem set in a sea of diamonds makes me love this cluster even more. It Is beautiful by any measure

Great description, Stargazing00. Just had a look at your eyepieces there and they look brilliant. You've got a good collection of glass there. Well worth the investment. Which scope were you using to see the red star?

I too had a scepticism about open clusters, but after finding the Auriga clusters I was blown away. So. Many. Stars.
