Mars on Bonfire Night

My Europa at F4.8 isn't cut out for imaging Mars, but got this using a 4 x Image Amplifier, ATIK camera and IR filter.

Tried eyepiece projection but it was hopeless. Trouble is, it won't get much bigger.

If anyone would like to donate a long focal length SCT, just feel free.

Mars is a problem with short focal length scopes. My F6 APO even with a 5X barlow does not give a big enough image scale. (see below)

I will just have to ask the wife to buy me an F10 , C 9.25 , for Christmas which will give me F50
