Hia WW scot,

Can i suggest you got to http://www.telescope house or http://www.firstlightoptics.com and look over there Skywatcher Explorer range as they have much better focuser than the Astromaster. I have the Astromaster 130eq and feel the focuser is not that grate just for normal stuff.Its ok for starters but later on you may regret it and get frustrated.

See what Skywatcher Explorer (try to go for the 150 or 200 if possable) suite your budget best but make sure you go for a Newtonian. That is what id recommend for you.

The eyepieces that come with the 130eq are a 20mm that is quite poor along with a slightly better 10mm. You will probably need some kind of adapter for the eyepiece though.
