Photographing Mars

Hello,

I have a Skywatcher Explorer 150mm reflector and canon EOS 350D. I have taken a picture of the Moon with a 2x barlow that came out OK. I have assumed that a 2x barlow with this set up would not be enough power to show Mars as any more than a dot. Would a 3x or 4x barlow give enough power to produce a photograph that shows some detail ( I have a motor drive onm order)?

Thanks

Jack
